As the new school year begins and Veterans Day approaches, it’s an ideal time to reflect on the brave individuals who have served and fought to protect our freedom and that of others. To help young Americans better understand the sacrifices made by Veterans, the VA and the Veterans Day National Committee have released the 2024 Veterans Day Teacher’s Resource Guide. This guide is designed to assist educators in planning lessons and activities around Veterans Day.
The guide offers valuable information about the contributions and sacrifices made by Veterans throughout history. It also includes student activities, scholarship details, and ideas for projects and events that can be used to show appreciation for Veterans. Educators and community leaders are encouraged to freely share and distribute the guide within schools and communities.
The story of our Nation is closely tied to the story of America’s Veterans—those who have stood guard every moment of every day. Thank you for taking the time to remember and honor Veterans on this important day.
